It does get hot at times and has melted the glue on part of the battery. No. It has lasted everyday 12-13 hour use for over 2 years now. Could I have lived without the taping of talk shows and favorite songs all this time.
I am glad I bought the home dock, it makes listening in the house great.
A little work and then you'll have something that may work. That's where the instructions help, but should show a picture. So I to a long thin piece of wood and screwed two screws into the top of the wood and placed the antenna on top so it's high up facing up. BIG PROBLEM. a small and pretty easy to use product that is really nice to listen to. It needs a cable wire which is even stronger so once set up I thought I make it stronger and it will be fine to play. How ever when it comes to the antenna part, things get frustrating and difficult fast.
Because I was never really able to set this up. The real problem is having the wire going through your window so you can never securely shut your window. Well so I fished it through window and plugged it in back of dock. It worked for 10 sec. So I bought a satellite antenna wire and set it up. This works so much better that on the side of your house. I didn't know that at the time so what I thought was okay I have a antenna wire cut in two pieces and their is no way you can solder it together. The whole unit was broken and I wasted time and money on the whole thing.
So I just thought that if I get a new antenna it will work. I took out the dock and plugged it in look nice and putting the stiletto 10 on it with remote and hooking up to stereo is great. I unraveled the long cord and tried to figure out where to put it outside and face it.
Because I have a deck and placed the wood and bracketed the wood down and than its all set. This will work fine only if you find a different way of fishing the wire from outside to inside without using the window. Finally everything was returned and started over with something else.
This product when taken out of package (which is really hard to get out of) was you know not that hard to set up, but a little more clarification wouldn't hurt. I had to call up Sirius to tell them to me how to face it. I was trying to shut window best as possible, but not crushing window but it shut right down on window and surged my whole unit.
Enjoy and happy listening. I give my highest recommendation to Sirius. You can't beat the convenience and the sound quality is excellent. XM will be dead in less than a year, I predict. The SLHI for the Stiletto is a great accessory. It takes the i-Pod CRUSHING Stiletto and turns it into a great, full-featured, home unit. It's absolutely the best sat radio on the market.
